I get it. America isn’t looking so hot these days.

But where do you even start? Which country? Can you even get a job?

Fortunately there are loads of resources out there! We like exploring the Expats subreddit as a first step and hearing first-hand advice and accounts from Americans living abroad.

EUROPE

Haven’t we all dreamed of starting over in [insert favorite European city here]?

Walkable cities, lower cost of living (in some cities), incredible architecture and history, decent healthcare and public transportation. What’s not to like?

We’ve done a lot of searching online on this topic and can confidently tell you that this Reddit thread is one of the best resources out there to get started. It’s been recently updated and includes a lot of basic information on which countries would be easiest to move to. Check it out!

ASIA

Asia is a huge and diverse region, and opportunities vary widely depending on where you're looking. Japan and South Korea are more structured (and competitive) in their visa and job requirements, while countries like Thailand and Vietnam are easier to settle in for digital nomads or retirees.
